Yasin Tokat was born on 02.04.1948 in Koparan Village, Güney District, Denizli Province.
In 1962, under the guidance of his father İbrahim Tokat and the leadership of his eldest brother Fevzi Tokat, 5 brothers founded Pamukkale Wines. In 1967, Yasin Tokat started studying at Ege University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Food and Fermentation Technology and started working in the family business during the summer times when he was still a young food engineer candidate.
Yasin Tokat made his first vintage in 1969 and when he graduated from university in 1972, he started the company management process from where he changed the history of Turkish winemaking.
On the road he set out with the dream of making Güney District the center of Turkish winemaking, he organized meetings in village coffeehouses, made farmers a partner in this dream and always stood by them in this long process. Pamukkale Winery, led by Yasin Tokat, who distributed 100.000 American grapevine rootstocks and provided grafting pencils to the vineyard farmers of Güney District, played an important role in the vineyard area in the Southern Plateau reaching fifty thousand decares today.
Yasin Tokat's visionary, idealistic and revolutionary personality, combined with his passion, has made Güney District the most important vineyard region in Turkey.
